Near golden sunsets

"For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off." - Leviticus 17:14

It burns

a feeling beneath skin raked clean.
  consummately brusque in its kiss,
   deathly deep eyes hold immobile
that which I could not move before.

This flame

my heart beats rapture, envy, lust.
twice and twice it takes me lower,
   eternally capacious in its hunger;
I surrender willingly what is not mine.

Gross cessation

it thickens and slows, euphoria pauses.
sated and bloated, it holds me still.
vaguely lost, drifting, a smile forms
and I take what is offered, though unwanted.

It wailed to its Not-God, and I wailed to mine.

-*-*-

Immortality is my illusion.

this just has a certain power to it....always good to read you...

And so it those we live with
and should know who elude us
But we can still love them
we can love completely
without complete understanding
