I feel like I've lost
all of the hope
That filled me with strength
and helped me to cope

My body feels dead
just going through motions
Unable to feel
even basic emotions

For a while I thought
the past was all gone
Then the darkness came back
bringing sadness along

I can't seem to shake it
it's clinging to me
Stealing the hope
that I'll ever break free

Replacing my dreams
with bitter despair
Til I'm too tired to fight it
and too tired to care

Excellent poem. The feel of hopelessness is overpowering, you really get your message across.

This stanza is one of my favorites out of this poem. There are so many good stanzas in this though, they describe exactly how I feel at times. The deep despair of... Well, life being the way life is and will always be.

I think you captured the emotions, of many people, in this just right. It's an amazing piece of work by you. This is now one of my favorite poems by you!

It is sad that so many of us can relate and have felt this way at one time or anotyher and some of us continue to feel this way...tis sad...great poem
