Wind Therapy

I wait for the cover of darkness
Before opening my wings and taking to the night sky
Closing my eyes, I relish in the caresses of the winds
Hear it whispering sweetly in my ears

I feel so free in the sky
The one true place where I can forget the memories
Where I can forget the pain
Where I can forget him

Rolling, diving, soaring
I become one with the wind
Moving with such grace
Escaping conformity
A river in the sky

Pausing once to stand on a rooftop
I gaze upon the city below
Before retreating deep within myself
To a place where only feeling reigns
The moonlight soft upon my skin
My black hair whipping about me
My now still wings being buffeted by the wind
A small smile playing on my lips
I am one with myself and the wind about me

This is my therapy
