In a state of limbo

A testament to misery,
War is waged all around me,
Hear the sound of the falling shells,
And hear the shells of hollow men ringing hollow bells,
Look outside and see the explosions,
Look inside and see the implosion,
Of a heart beating to the drum of the minutemen screaming about the erosion of a society on edge.

A testament to the ability of men to wage wars,
Over minimum wages, and the rights of the government to kick down my door,
Civil liberty,
Well what liberty is civil,
When the cries of men drown out the sounds of nature,
Speaking in meaningless riddles.

A testament to culture,
When all our politician vultures
peck at the flesh of the poor,
A Pop-Society,
Where mans measure is gauged by his eagerness to buy property.
A collective individualistic hive of independent apes,
Absurd you say?
Well true I respond, when we have sold our souls to low insurance rates.

So where does that leave us, my wayward friends?
When all we know is temporary
And societies ills can be cured by a mere revolutionary,
To lead the masses to the end.

I could not have said it better myself. You got the right ideas about society today. But we all are mislead because we are not in control. We are slaves to the system, if you will. Good write.

nice write, but in order for revolution the poeple need to realize the things that are wrong first. and with the media the way it is all it's ever made of is stories of fear, threats, death, tragedy and so on... anything to keep the minds of the people away from the horrors of the war and the terrible things that our soldiers and the people of those countries are going through... The people need to hear, and revolution will happen.  i refuse to believe that we as a people will not stand up for what belongs to us... anyways... great topic and write.. sorry for the ramble

Life is a torment and torment an enigma. So burn the shackles of slavery and let love run free
-i wrote it somewhere in time
