It’s a serene night on pretty Park Avenue,
The streets are calm, the footpath worn
The sky will convert to blue in the morning
But right now they wear the black I used to show off
With the cherry lipstick.

The brilliant colours line up.
My ruby red shoes pass the time patiently outside your door,
They eagerly await your return, but
What they don’t know, is the only thing I do.
You won’t be coming back.

The curtains are shut and it might just rain,
The house is empty but it looks the same.
Such a peaceful collision
The blue blue light and the chocolate dark.

I wait outside your door where the ink still paints the sky,
It’s been a long time; still I don’t believe you can fly.

You won’t be coming back to pretty Park Avenue,
You won’t be coming back to me.

Come on God, do I seem bulletproof?

oh gosh courts, this is so sad and so lonely, but it is also so wonderfully written. inspiring imagery all the way through!

"

It’s been a long time; still I don’t believe you can fly.

You won’t be coming back to pretty Park Avenue,
You won’t be coming back to me. "

The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return.

very dejected emotion here - but like the others said - beautiful poem.

''The sky will convert to blue in the morning
But right now they wear the black I used to show off
With the cherry lipstick.''

i'm pretty much obsessed with the sky and it's many colours, so i enjoyed the way you phrased that line.

brilliant read.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate it, hugely.

Aw Lor and Kirst, too nice to me, truly.

For A Brief Moment I Had You

I can understand why
you believe this to be a
dark poem...

but how the hope, thought slim,
shimmers through...

lighting a candle
for someone to walk away
from the Pretty Park Avenue...

beautiful work here.

I'm glad I rumbled into it....

and stumbled away, in awe.

"Serene... Calm... Brilliant... Empty... Peaceful..."
Yes, this describes the dichotomy of Park Avenue and the Boulevard of Relationships...
Incredible poem, Hollow!

Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere
