In a state of limbo

0 posted 2006-02-13 08:13 PM

Set the stage in the halls of school,
Turn the page, than time stood still,
She broke my heart then took her pill,
But honey we all have our problems
and too much time to kill…
Curtain open up upon the time I found my pride,
Time and time again I head the warning lines…
Took time for me to find the bender,
Cigarettes, but dope was better,
Smoke to myself, and drive my ride,
I stood still while time passed me by
Nothing felt better than my hubris
Throbbing in my mind.
Flashback to a better time,
When I was young and hell seemed to me so close by,
I wondered whether the adults had lied,
It seemed to me that life was blind,
That failure seemed as likely as
The choices I would make while high.
What once was a jam is now my plan,
To guide myself towards the ideal,
Accept the working of a mysterious hand,
Towards the life which once was so real,
I could have walked but instead I ran,
And now today I am a man,
What I once possessed has been chased away and scrammed,
I rushed towards life with open hands,
And received in the stead of happiness a faceless scam.
What is hope if it is not idealism,
Pummeled senseless with merciless realism,
Chased to death by my nightmare world,
Reality viewed through a shadowy prism.

the rhythm and meter you use is very intriguing, i enjoyed this as much as the first one from you i read, you have a very unique use of words to describe your emotions, excellent write

Life is a torment and torment an enigma. So burn the shackles of slavery and let love run free
-i wrote it somewhere in time
