i remember it felt like a dream...

when we arrived at the church
the line was half a mile down the street,
all there for last respects
and not a vacant inch inside the walls.
my brother was a drug user; few people showed concern.
my brother was dead; the masses showed up beyond belief.
halfway through the service, a song on tape was played,
and all of a sudden it was at twice normal speed:
a beautiful song of hope turned "chipmonks" hit.

the day they put me in the ground,
i hope someone writes a poem like this,
about some seemingly insignificant faux pas.
then i'll know we are not forgotten,
and you'll know the spirit lives on.

of all the things we try to find... it's only love we keep.

That was really heart felt and fairly deep.  Good read.

"...turned 'chipmunks' hit..."

Yeah, I've got a big goofy grin on my face, and its pretty cool cause I'm in a big crowded library.

I like the realism.  Can almost feel and see it.

How ya been?

God bless,

So what if my wings are too scratched, cut, and beat up to fly... I'll walk.

So it's a late night in New Zealand and I shouldn't be on PiP, but I scrolled through my library anyway and I found this.

And, well, I understood it. Unlike the first time, where I was simply moved by your words. Tonight, I understood what you were saying and it's truly making my eyes well up at the thought of it. But thank you for showing me this anyway. The day they put you in the ground my friend, will be such a sad, sad day.

Love you Mike. Miss you on here.

If indeed the spirit lives on, then yours will be forever captured... a portrait embedded forever in the essence of those you've touched.

Wow, Mike, it's been a long time. It seems like a microcosm ago, eh? Thanks to Hollow for bringing back a gem of yours. As you know all too well how this relates to my brother's funeral, I can but say, "Touche'"

I pray all is well with you, and I am so thankful for the walk down memory lane, where the friends of old shared solemn words amongst each other.

Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere
