Oddly enough I stand alone
Unless I hide
Shrink back in fear and watch
Catch up with reality
I'm only me against a wall

"Hate" freely spoken
A fool's rage projected
The little evil things
A disease that kills
Wrap it in plastic, walk away

Photographs of the mess
I'm following God
Coffee pitch a tent
Let it come, flow
Trusting Jesus and not feeling bad

So what if my wings are too scratched, cut, and beat up to fly... I'll walk.

This was very nicely done, Craig! It grabs you from the opening line, and I really like it in its entirety, but especially love the first stanza!
(Also love the signature line!) God Bless!

Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere

I thought walking was over when I left Texas.  I walk more now that I used to... alot more.

Nice to hear from you.  God bless.
