my own little world

0 posted 2005-05-26 11:23 PM

Nights pass through sleeplessness
restless as i bore holes into my sheet covers
burning, wanting this phantom
to bring peace and fulfillment
to emptiness that begs.

wake screaming from half asleep
nightmares, hallucinations
of giant creatures
hunting my blood,
leaping at my face

too old for mommy to hug me
to distant from angelic comfort to weep

I will myself to forget it all;
warmth of arms that cry for love,
gentle breathing of silence in my ear,
but fail
only saying he is dead
- not of this world.

fate laughs.
when given up,
that's when I find
the phantom that was dead,
standing in front of clear blue sky
looking far beyond,
through,
into my eyes.

How can I stand here and not be moved by you? - Lifehouse

I get the feeling of something being or needing to be cleared from this.  The garbage. Maybe we both have some sorta extra stuff that needs to be removed.  I know I do.  Good poem.

just a little light please, like syrup or a filmy substance.
