They've spent a lifetime of pity parties in my honor, Honestly fearing for me that I'd never find my other half, yet Envying me for just how deep my affections run. Only God knows who and why I am. Newness of each dawning day glimmers as it reflects my soul. Even now, He shows me it's possible you exist out there for me. Today I saw you again, and met you, truly, for the first time. Hope nearly jumped out of my shell when you called me Sunshine, And then you said "I love you," and God smiled down upon me. The reality of meaning in those little words made me cry. Yet, even as I am aware that you might not be "the one," Only God knows who and why you are. Understanding me, He's shown me my beauty, reason and goal. Loving with all that I am, if this one isn't "it," Oh how awesome beyond comprehension it will be when "it" finds me. Very humbly, I submit, I can't wait! But I must... Even if I can love another more than you, thanks for being here today. Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere |

wow. i had forgotten this and when i stumbled across it again, i cried, which i have not been able to do lately. this is that rare situation where you truly love without any expectation. to say "i love you and i know you may not be the one, but i am so damn glad you're here today for me to love whether you love me or not..." geesh. that's amazing. love ya purity; your writing rules... of all the things we try to find... it's only love we keep. |
