Sit, if you will, for one brief moment
and think of that one person... you know the one.
Look into those eyes.
Think of exactly what you see.
Think of exactly what you feel.
Now, look deeper... Think of why.

Now, come back to reality.
Think of the world around you.
Think of all the problems that exist in your life.
Think of the torments of those things you pain over everyday.
Think of the stress the intricate dilemmas cause you.
Think of the burdens you bear.
Reflect on all the things that cause you to sit and question why...
Why do you have to suffer through these things?..
Why can’t things be better than they are for you?..
Why does so much bad surround you each and everyday?..
Why even bother to go on?..

Then, think again, of what you see in those eyes.

That’s why.

Is it worth it?
Then, if it is... and trust me, it is...
cherish the gift that God has given to you through those eyes,
and realize that no matter how bad it gets,
what you see in that person’s soul will carry you through.
I know... I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t true,
so I can indeed state my life on it,
and the burdens have surely tested me.

Now admit it to yourself.
Then admit it to the bearer of those eyes.
Then share, the two of you, the reason “why” to the rest of the world...
one person at a time.
One person at a time?
Is it any feat of speakable worth?

Sit, if you will, for one brief moment
and think of that one person... you know the one.

Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere

Just some patience... Relax and wait.  Pretty cool.

Aarrgh! I LOVED THIS!
You truly captured me
Line for line.
I went exactly where you wanted.
To find myself trudging through muddy waters
Only to wind back to the beautiful thought
You made me have at the start.
Isn't this lifes epiphany?
This should be read aloud;
Pause for effect at every thought & every ...
GRAND.
Thank you.

wow! now this deserves to be placed along with "why live life" ...  for this is a grand answer. you latched me. i went there. i saw this person and those eyes. yep... that's why. news made me think of my own reaction while reading this one. wonder if you can harvest and mesh the tears of joy you get when thinking of that "one person... you know the one" and the tears of frustration and humility of the "now come back to reality"...? if it all becomes one, then you become that greater life and the sharing between the two and to the rest of the world becomes the definitive answer to the "why live life" poem.

what did i just say? oh well, it boils down to this was beautiful.

of all the things we try to find... it's only love we keep.
