alone in the light

a boy sits in the corner
trying to hide from the light
encompasing him so completely
but he has found the escape he needs
his fists clenched
at his sides so tight
that a red pool formed by drips
is all beneath him
the light can no longer hurt him
the pain of its brilliance no longer seethes
the dark is always there to comfort him
in the corner, with empty sockets, he bleeds

Neither night nor day can give me purchase only purged dust on earth can avenge the worthless.
