She walked because she could not run
some say she's paralyzed in the way she carries too many books in her arms.
But she's writhing around in the neon green water and they are sitting in the seats like there rocking chairs and smoking cigerettes like they're old men.
We are none of these things. Or are we.

She wore every colour of the rainbow in her hair,
a ribbon her grandfather gave her after he violated her.
Oh its a disgusting proclaimation, but she finds her comfort.
Back up into the parking space.
Children get longer recesses and parents are forgetting to read to them at night.
Oh, its bound to happen.
We are none of these things. But are we?

A glass of wine.
She cleans her silk sheets in the washing machine once a week and now there fraying.
We live in a jungle.
We eat the wild flowers.
What should I name him?
You were drunk. You didn't use a condom.
I was lonely from working the night shift.
Light flickers through our cranberry curtains.
So what should we name him?

With every colour of the rainbow on my eyes.
This chance encounter with the mad hatter...
Burn that ribbon it causes too much trouble.
We are none of this. We are all of it. Don't even fret.
