Nothing and Nowhere

You put on a brave face,
laughing and smiling your
way through the day.
But you close your door
at night, try to pretend
that everything's alright,
But those muffled sobs
aren't fooling anyone.

They all love you, why can't you see?
Or are you too far gone
to care?
Living in a world
without feeling, but doesn't that
empty numbness sting and hurt you
deep inside?

Intoxicated, you roam the streets,
searching the stars for answers
to those questions you seek
Seek so desperately.
And the pouring rain
seeps through your clothes
As you find solace in a
musty small bus shelter.

But hey, you're ok
You're still laughing and smiling
your way through the day.

Keep repeating the words,
Will they ever sink in?
If you keep telling yourself.

Pride is holding your head up, when everyone else has their's lowered. Courage is what makes you do it.

this is very real and definitely something I've felt. I sometimes think I'm in love with words so much that I should believe myself. But its the hardest thing to believe sometimes.
well written.
I like this a lot.

There's no reason I'm oversleeping
dreamin' my life away...I'm not sure if I'm still breathing so I'll put on a happy face
