Nothing and Nowhere

0 posted 2004-09-10 03:08 AM

Trapped in a world, devoid of hope
Stumbling through, hourless days
Waking without a reason
Nothing to look forward to
Bored by mindless TV.
Highlights consisting of short sentences with you
Fighting back tears as imperfect grades sit in my lap
Taunting their red numbers of failure
Trying to keep my head off the desk, as fatigue consumes me
Surrounded by puerile behaviour, the more withdrawn I become
Told to be myself, stay true forever
But I don't even know me
All I see of me is a blank dot, taking up precious space.
Growing bitter by the lack of direction
Too easily influenced by others opinions
Am I hiding under so many masks, I've lost track, lost count?
Do I really know what I know?
Do I really say what I say?
Do I even like what I like?
Why does it have to be so hard?
Why did the simple days have to vanish?
Giving anything for them to return
I rock, sobbing pathetically.
Wishing I could find me,
Hoping I might be found.

Tomorrow, is the today we feared yesterday.

You're good and I appreciate such work.  I'm probably a little older than you, but that doesn't matter. 20 You're good.  Keep it up.

Thanks everyone for the comments. GIS-you are older than me, so it means heaps to me, to have an older person acknowledge my work, thanks so much.

Kirsty:

Growing bitter by the lack of direction

that line is priceless and you know?
No matter the age, sometimes you just
go right back to the beginning . . .
there are many days I feel as you do.
Hang in there . . .
