Nothing and Nowhere

They laugh out loud
Sharp and mocking
Thinking its funny
But the words are piercing
Cutting jagged into your heart
No one notices the pain you feel
When they agree with all the taunts
Inside you're screaming
Outside you're smiling
Trying to convince them you're stronger
Pretending even to yourself
That you're fine
But you can't keep living the lie.
When all you want to do
Is rip out the darkness
The hurt tearing away at your insides
Tears flooding
Blood pumping, coarsing through your veins
Knives gleaming
Out the corner of your eye
The fresh red drops
Thick and shiny
First reflecting relief
Satisfaction
Now reflecting regret
Shame, hate at your weakness
You can't go back
The scar remains
Burning reminder
Along with all the other hard days.
