Nothing and Nowhere

When shall the rain fall?
The black clouds are fit to burst
Dark, ready to explode
They cannot keep it inside
And so the refreshing raindrops begin to fall
An easy release, seemingly so simple.

She locks it all up, tries to throw away the key
Wishing to be a raincloud
Her pressure is building, fizzing warningly
But still the lid is kept shut.

Blinking back prickling tears, burning cheeks
Her mouth stays a frozen line
Ignoring her personal raging storm, as the thunder claps overhead
Letting it continue to grow, a swirling, seething mass
Until it simply cannot be contained.

In the calm before the storm
Some say you could have heard a pin drop
A cold eery silence, fumagated the hallway like toxic gas
But as sudden as the silence came, it was lost
Replaced by high pitched screaming, full body crying
Shoulders quivering, she claws at her face, rips at her hair
The black seeping out, oozing from every pore
Her bleeding heart exposed, she flees.

Running to the bleakest, darkest corner, hidden from sight like a monster
She trembles, not only from sheer cold, but from fear.
Fear that now they know, now they all know
She can't cover, can't lie, can't pretend, because now they know.
Consoled only by the feeling of the black, being gone
But crouching in the mud, shaking with anxiety
She wonders, was this a fair trade?

This is a good title. Solid, engaging. The poem seems to run a little long though. That is probably just me though since I have a really short attention span. I enjoyed it regardless.

Kirsty:

this is amazing!

it reminds me of Pink Floyd's,
"The Wall" as one trapped inside
oneself wanting to get out yet afraid
to show what is inside . . .
