Please,
just this once,
let me dream something good.
Leave out the horrors
I see every day.
Visions of blood flowing
life pouring from severed veins.
Flies buzzing about bloated flesh.
I don't want to see
the organs I house,
my skin turned inside out,
my eyes forced down my throat,
my tongue writhing on the floor.
Please,
let me find in my sleep
the comfort that eludes me
in my waking world
Please,
just this once,
let me dream something good.

i might be stange but i think this is a beautiful piece. love the matching beginning and end. it's marvelous.

Thanks. And I dn't think you're strange. Then again, I wrote it to begin with, so maybe I'm not the foremost figure in normalcy.
