The point of no return

Your selfishness bound me,
as real as the shackles I wore.
Chained to you, resentfully doring.
Hanging on to word and whim,
manacles biting vulnerable skin.
I trudged behind,
your faithful pet,
toiling for your smile.
Waiting for those treasured words,
to relese me from my servitude.
Suspense beading with sweat
fingers
tap
tap
tapping,
fiddling with the locks.
But I was left wanting.

Not been my week, I'm sorry for the flooding.

Sorry it has been a bad week for you. Looks like a good week for poetry though! Really liked this one.

I don't know why I haven't replied to your poems, because they are sure as hell great. I like this one though...being chained to another and following them as they pull you along...good topic, awesome writing.

Thanks.  Writers' bane, however, plagues me.  My overactive imagination lets me imagine and write things so vividly that I give myself nightmares more often that not.
