Dogs!

They show more loyalty

than this

that he

has shown to me.

Meager how

the gather'd pack

will growl at death

she will attack

a soft footfall

well down the road

the bristled neck

the stance

the scold

of the low

warn howling thus:

"trespassers

must die--

it's 'us'"

(or them)

warns wolf

saliva loose

slivering

the moon

into

halves that cling--

a lingering

warm in stark

malignancy

"rrrrrrrrrroll"

instinctive

purr of throat,

"Not another step."

She broke--

the silence

of this night

she said:

"I am bitch.

And you?

are dead."

Roaring with laughter here.

Life is a bitch, and then you become one.

whew.

It's not even that time of the month either.

All I can say is wow.  That really felt like the sting of a betraying lover, if you ask me.  Enjoyed its "balls-to-the-walls" realism.

It sparked my imagination a little.

I loved it.
The last two lines especially.
and the format was fun, i'm gonna have to try it.

Was it you that lamented once, "How many poems can you write about the moon?"

So they get a little darker, then?

Why not
Why not

Well, e, just like the moon, I have my phases. And I still lament my own writings.

I told a friend who was commenting on how prolific I am with my poetry and I said,
"NOT"--I have only written six poems--all the rest are re-writes of those..."

shaking my head here--thanks to all for reading my rant. Both here in the reply box and above. I truly don't consider myself a poet. A storyteller? sure, but a poet? tsk...

Serenity Blaze, I applaud you, lady.  Hope things worked out tonight.  Awhile back, my mom sent me a forward regarding the word, bitch.  If I ever get your email I'll send it if I can find it.     ....jo

Jo-jo? Would that be the one that states that the word bitch simply means--

Babe
In
Total
Charge of
Herself?

On the other hand, I told my daughter once, it was a word invented by men to describe women who have the audacity to behave as if they had the sames rights as men.

(raising a militant?)
