In a state of disrepair...

On the beach the ice does grate
across the pebbled palate of the sands
its viscous taste is settled there
and when you walk the sands
your tongue will taste the metal tang.

On the ice the snow does drift
upon the ridged lips of its face
its silent sound a dagger fall
and when you brave the ice
your ears will hear its barren bark

On the waves the hail does flay
the obese body of the sea
its glacial knife is plunged in quick
and when you breath the waves
your skin will feel its expert thrust

This dream is only left for those:
Where skin is burned; healed thick.
Where eyes are cataracts of stone.
Where core is empty as the sky.
Where no fire burns in afterglow
upon the retina of the soul....

"And the sun went down, and the stars came out far over the summer sea,
But never a moment ceased the fight of the one and the fifty-three."
