He screamed from that dark blue corner
as his ceiling fan tassels clanked against the glass
He cried out to his God, a plea he'd never forget
he said:
"My God, My Lord, My Savior... shelter me
from the icy embraces of false truths
from mock innocence they so willingly bear
from the hope that I shall one day find her
I'm sick of searching, sick of waiting
I'd rather die alone, than continue this struggle..."
he wept in the corner of his room
for he felt betrayed, everything inside of him
felt akward and wrong, he'd shared his gift;
his love with her without knowing the truth
for hers was a gift often enjoyed and he wept
wept for innocence lost, he learned the silent truth
it's never worth the cost, never worth the cost
the affection of others is never worth the cost
so he silently condemned his love to the darkest corners
the darkest corners of his heart and brought forth
the arrogance and crudeness, the indifference and distance
the four horsemen which guarded his bleeding love
in his despair he whispered:
"Let the ages cry the blackest tears tonight
for a love is lost which can never be regained
mine is banished henceforth to the abyss
never to return, even unto pain of death
let the stars glean one single ray of light
and shine it down upon that love
that it may always remember what it
"should have been" to give itself
let the deepest shadows of the fires of hell
roast its tender body blistering the hope
reminding it of what the bitter truth is..."
as he stood the browns of his eyes
dulled slightly, stagnating to a chalkier tone
and then he went on prepared to challenge
anyone who would dare the gauntlet of his heart

Look what I've built, it shines so beautifully now watch as it destroys me."

I'm crying with you on this. I feel exactly the same, I hope this is just fiction for you, but it's truth for me. I also believe in and follow God but sometimes life isn't fair is it? awesome write, couldn't have said it better myself.
