You're mothers' child, but night lays you down
Hair aflame, wild look in your eyes
Naked belly to the ground
A forest fire nibbles at your veins
Crawls up your arm, runs away with your mind
And burns dry thoughts like leaves

Eyes stare up, but something's in the way
In the Bible only angels have wings
And the rest must wait to be saved
A dry tongue screams at the sky
But the wind just breathes words in
As a strange bird tries to fly

Pieces of us die everyday as though our flesh were hell
Such injustice, as children we are told that
from God we fell
Where are my angels?
Where's my golden one?
Where's my hope now that my heros have gone?
Some are being beaten, some are being born
And some can't tell the difference anymore

Quote on my thoughts today.

Please say what you think on these words.

Well, I can't say your angle is dead, because you certainly took the theme from a great angle.  Your angel, however, I doubt is dead either.  Probably just watching from the background.  Keep up the good work.

Love, the last line! i love it, the poem is soooooooooo awesome, and like where are those angels? aren't we meant to be saved by our guardian angels? why are so many children dead, what is it "Gods way," or something? I think those angels are doing a slack job of rescuing all the little kids, who have drowned or what not. Your poem has brought that alight to me. I love it, its great.

Keep posting baby!

I love Jewel. My mother listens to her all the time, and now  i do too, and i usually dont listen to that stuff much. More into like Linkin Park, Finger 11, slipknot, that kind of stuff. Her stuff is very powerful.

I'm also into that kind of stuff, but jewel is the only thing different for me and the only reason y i  like her is cuz her lyrics are so powerful and interesting and shes so talented.

Very well written.

"Where are my angels?
Where's my golden one?
Where's my hope now that my heros have gone?"

Hope to read some more of your work in the near future.
