They stood chances,
pieces to the puzzle,
creeping through the valentines.

She held it's key,
dangled on her neck,
gazing through the starry eyed ceiling.

Possessing it was true,
true as her wrinkle,
crying to his lost tear.

The trappings of a gem,
nesting its home on the burden of her heart,
stealing her skin for another sad day.

His life was short lived,
Dreaming and thinking his way around tracks,
As he fell before he conquered.

His tales and memories stringed together around her,
Testing their waters through her fizzled memory.

Confused and painfully true, she keeps her hand clenched on its heart shaped locket.
