Alone The days of winter roll by As do the seconds until I die Is my end all too near Or will I live another year My old frail bones ache in pain As I watch the pouring rain The pale gray sky looks down at me As if to nod and agree I recall my long lived life And the passing of my wife I ‘m in this house all alone Listening to the thunder moan Recalling all that I hold dear Brings to my eye a gentle tear My life once seemed so very long Only to find out that I was wrong All the things I’d wished I done Or the things I hadn’t begun Is this how its meant to be No one here, only me We spend our whole lives trying to live, only to realize that we don’t know what life is truly about until it is too late. |

I loved it. No, really. I guess not enough people think of how other people feel when they're alone.. but that poem portrayed it so well. It gave me a look inside someone else's world and how bad things can look from another side of life. I applaud you for that outstanding poem. |
