Sirens blaring,
Lights flashing,
Red blue,
Red blue,
But not for
Me,
Not today,
They won't seize,
I won't oblige.

As I lay upon
Moist, muddy
Terrain,
With bruised eyes,
Severly etched lines
Brimming with red
Tears,
I recover consciousness.

Comprehending,
Excruciating sounds,
Destructive images,
Prevail,
Because of
Me.

I recapture
Fortitude,
My faltering knees
Straighten,
I slowly ascend,
Swiftly,
Hands sweep my
Face,
Brushing away
Matted hair.

Hunched,
I stand erect,
Glaring into
Weepy eyes,
Of another,
Longing only
To flee,
Scamper from
This mayhem,
Depart ruins,
Abandon the wreck.

As these thougts
Wander,
My back
Arches in
Agony,
Shackles bind
My wrists,
Restraining me,
Shoving me
Into a
Cage,
Where only
I exist.

Forcing,
My blood, dirty
Self,
To confront everything,
With all weaknesses,
Exposed.
