I return to the grave of my father,
shrouded by the horrible mists of
of his slimy secret carried in my
mother's sighs, and slap his
headstone until my hands are
stained in his blood.

His name slab heavy and sinking
in the sediment, going to Hell for
his sins against the town filled
with his widows dressed in veils
of black lacy shame.

From this parched place barely
feeding, a home vomits its
tendrils of hopeless desire. This
home, its roots tapped into the
soil and the blood I am forced to drink.

I scream at the wilted flowers
splayed in the dirt like the women he
stole the warm love from.
This thief stole my future.
"Father, father...you bastard!"

I shake off the bitterness of hate
and move across the gray grass
field with hopes he died begging
forgiveness for spreading his seed
in slattern unsaterie.

No home to turn, I move away,
Far, far from the mother that
fed me blood and fear, far from
this tainted place full of saddened
siblings and a father now dead,

and never forgiven!

Even with insects-
some can sing
some can't

A very powerful piece.

The flow seems to build the anger, which in turn feeds the theme of illegitimacy.

Well done.

Thank you, this poem had many incarnations, started out as a Sestina.  I appreciate your comments.
