I Stand In Awe

I can't believe I met you.
Even to this day I stand in awe of that
I know me, I know I don't feel the same
But I find times, and it seems lots of them
When I think back to what it was like knowing you
The day after day joy you brought, seemed bound-
less measureless by far, and then it happened
Inner feelings felt you were pulling away
Some sense of your being was leaving me
fading in thoughts of ne, and your heart
going to something else. I had a sinking feeling
I had a feeling it was someone else. I loved you
But I loved in a way I'd never felt before. When
you left, well when you came to me, you told me
words that would soften the blow. Even then you
were concered for me. I didn't feel anger I felt this
crushing blow, something that I couldn't explain like
someone ripping a child from me must be. Flesh and
blood being torn from my own being, left unwhole.
I stand in awe even still that I didn't give you more
that I didn't take things the way I would have thoght
I would. I became a person I didn't know I had inside
one I thought was weak in spirit, but at least stronger
than anger, and anger that would turn to hurt you. Still
I stand in awe of me, and you. What ever happened
to us two? I know that lovers wasn't meant to be be-cause
I'm not in your league. You are someone I could never touch
So how? How did we lose? Still.
Why did the
Bell
toll?

I don't believe in leagues when talking of relationships.  There is still a huge mystery as to why people become attracted to each other.  Even with my girlfriend, I look at her with wonder and she says...I love you, you love me...that is enough!

Anyway...a very well written piece with a lot of nice visuals.

Sparticus.

Thank you. Words I needed to hear. Much appreciated was this. I agree there shouldn't be, but looks are alot of it with some. I wouldn't care if someone looked like Quasi modo (sp?) if they are kind, loving, caring, gentle, selfless, and thoughtful THAT'S what would win my heart. Sending hugs for the kindness you just extended.
Love,
Terri~

Well eor I thought you gave me a   but you are speaking so I guess it's ok for me to speak to you now? No...wrong about that one. I just see it shape up, and then I got my last line. To be honest I wasn't really sure how I was going to end this, but it was picked for me. I saw a bell coming before my eyes, and I felt how appropriate since it's true.
Love,
Terri~
