Somewhere... out there...

0 posted 2003-11-22 04:39 PM

when a lone voice

echoes

off secluded walls

and the twinkling
of stars
is morse code for
'alone'

nothing matters...

when a moment
lost
brings solace
in the knowing
that time is almost past

and a candle burns
with the dance
of unrealized
'someday' dreams

nothing matters...

when the sunrise
serves only to
cast a glow
on the face of
sadness

and the kiss
of rain
wets a lash
in disguise of
lonely tears

nothing matters...

anymore

When the power of love overcomes the
love of power the world will know peace.

Vicky, I don't usually read in Dark, but your name caught my eye. I'm glad. This is a departure for you but it is so good I had to tell you! There is such soulful longing in your words that it aches to read them. You have done a great job with this!

Your name in here caught my eye too I am afraid.  I held my breath I think until the end, as you did this so well it reeked with pain.  I hate to almost say how good it was in its longing, and despair but it was, is that a good thing?  So very sad, and so very dark.

Yet the flames of all seem to keep on burning... until the alone-ness subsides... Then they shine brighter and flicker more joyously...

Ayah! Such imagery! I'd kill to have thought of stars and Morse Code!
