You thought you had won the battle
Because of the rising sun
But my friend, how wrong you are
The war has just begun
The spirits that protect me
Are angered to no end
They are around you always
It's their breath you feel with the wind
You thought you had caused strife
Yes, for a while you did
Was it worth it?Was it worth your life?
It is now time to pay
Oh, how costly that will be
Was it worth the payment?
You shall never again be free
I hear a ringing, Yes, the bells doth toll
Oh, my friend, they ring for you
They are now after your soul
They will find you, you can not hide
They know where you are always
They know where you abide
Closer they come with each ringing bell
How soon with this be?
My friend, only time will tell
This I know for sure
There will come a day
When they finally get you
You will have to pay

....redrobin...hmmm..was Sparticus writing about you then? /pip/Forum84/HTML/000267.html

Just a thought... and the other thought is that I like this on two levels. First, as a poem it absolutely rocks -- excellent exposition throughout.

Second, I wish I had even one protective spirit. I've had to protect myself from spirits all too often (as in my Shattering Spirit, which is down there somewhere in this forum), but I've never had the slightest help. Guidance, yes, but protection? Zippo!

Thank you both for reading and commenting.  A lot of my poetry tends to be on the dark side.  Glad you liked it.
