Dogma--?

You say I cram my beliefs down your throat,
And all the while you know that's not true.
I wouldn't do that anymore than I'd tell you how to vote.
So what makes you think I'd tell you what to do?

That's you taking my words, and twisting them as usual
Why don't you tell the truth for once?
I gave you more respect than that, but it sure wasn't mutual.
You lie, twist my words, to make me seem to be a dunce.

I would never tell you, or anyone, what to believe, that's not my place.
I do know this though, I've been taught not to be two-faced.
I've always told you what you believe is between you, and God.
That's personal, on grounds my feet shan't trod.

I never preached to you, you are the one that tells that lie
Why don't you tell the truth for once, or are you afraid you might die?
No one is any better than the other; we are all created equally.
I've always said that, but those are words I've said you hid so no one could see.

Your lies about me, or half-truths,
about my thoughts, my words, my deeds
Your mouth so uncouth
Planting your doubting seeds.

You are the one with the greed.
You want it all, and no love for me.
So your forked tongue, takes all it can, robs at will
Better be careful, better watch, what words you spill.

There are some of us if we are going to make an accusation
We want truth to back it up.
But you tell your sick lies with grand immaculation
On filthy lying words, you dine, and sup.

No I don't want to keep company with ones that love their lies.
Someday you'll be caught in your untruthful tries.
What you believe, or ever believed, is not my place to say
Never have I told you believe this way, or that, there is no way.

What a lying mind you have
Is there anything of truth you crave?
Yes there is. You demand it for yourself
But you don’t have to return the same.

I told you what I live by, and what I believe
I never told you if you didn't do the same
You wouldn't have my love in recieve
This is just all another part of your insane lying game.

Wow, this poem is very in your face and it's very powerful and I respect it.  I respect that you feel you can believe in what you want to, but you don't rub it in other peoples faces or tell them what the right way to live is.  Is this based upon a real person, or did you just need to vent some anger and make up a fictional character?

Just like the first line says "you say I cram my beliefs down your throat, and the secong line says "all the while you know that's not true." Yes I do know someone that accuses. And he knows he's lying and yes it makes me angry when someone lies about me. Doesn't it you? If something is the truth then I don't mind taking responsiblilty for my actions, but to lie about me no I don't appreciate it, and I don't know anyone that does.

Very true, I don't believe anyone deserves to have lies said about them, but that's the beauty of poetry you can write about anything and relieve yoursel of anger...

Thank you for the comment Coyote, but you know how life is, and in life we have to learn to eat crow, too. As it turns out I was wrong, and this person was right. So I think it's only right since I said he's lying in a public forum I think I should say he was right, and I was wrong in like manner. Wrong is wrong no matter who does the deed.
Thanks for the critique, but purging wasn't done til now.
Love,
Terri~

Catchy title.  If you think any of my poems are personally directed at you, they're not.  I just met someone and she has a dude but she tried to kiss me anyway.  So lately she's been inspiring alot of poetry from me.  I have nothing against you.  Like I said you're a really sweet person.  And I wouldnt call it turning against god, I just turned away.  It doesnt seem like he answers any of my prayers so I just have to find another way.  Relax and dont be so tense.  Im not against you or anybody. Im just doing what I feel I have to.  Sorry if I made it seem like I was against you. Actually my people skills are horrible and most everybody I meet ends up feeling awkward around me.  Maybe I should leave my bedroom every now and then huh? lol.

All that is great once was small.

[Im the one thats going to die when its time for me to die.  So let me live my life the way I want to.]-JIMI
