((Unfortunately, I cannot remember if I had posted this one before or not. If I have, I apologize for the re-post. If not, then this is another one of my older poems, much as "Wander" and "One Hope", but I pray that you'll enjoy it all the same.))

The inner dwellings of space persist
Taking shape, bending, swirling
Blackholes pull you in, hugging you close
While supernovas blast you away, keeping you warm.

The sun flickers against the backdrop of stars
It appears as an ember lit and dying
Slowly, surely, it teaches us a lesson
Oh, how even something so powerful can fade.

Each galaxy spirals, cold, desolant
So alone, but teeming with radiance
How many forms do we seek
Among the gods and the Heavens?

Nay, the moon casts not its shadow
Drawing across the tides of Earth's night sky
It creeps, blanketing us with its black cloak of white twilight
Peering down at us as an everlasting eye.

The tides pull and push, crashing against the rocks
Crags form, and crags fade, littering the soft earth with ocean
Ocean that sprays up to the sky, and trickles down like fingers
Fingers of God that are tickling the mother, Gaia.

And lo', there stand we humans, bold and proud
Our eyes peer, and seek, but do not see
We are bound to the mortal coil of this planet
And we are glorious and honored by her.

We reach out and touch her, but do not feel
We listen to her words, but do not hear
Oh the many things she has to say
Life will go on, she whispers in our ears.

The inner dwellings of space persist
And mother earth spins complacently
Silently, firmly, dashing through the cosmos
And we stand firm, watching her go.

Watching her go, go, go so quick
Straight down to her very core
Oh that core that layers her soul
And beats in one with our hearts.

This is a very good write.  True, the universe surely is quite vast.
