This is the hour
where I belong
that lavender space
between sunset and sunrise.
Day is a cruelty
that tortures my eye
with colours too bright
for a wintering heart.
Give me the moon for my journey
over rain spattered roads,
stars as my guide
and night for a lover.
The hours are one
in my darkened world,
no midnight regrets,
no false hope at dawn,
only the truth,
darkness waits
at the end of the road.

I am really enjoying your visuals.
I got so busy the past two weeks in my mini-vacation to Niagara Falls that I forgot to stop for a DARK visit. Glad I ventured in here today.
Once again, welcome!

Darkness is a soothing destination for many of us, for it bids us rest.

I really dug this one too.

I agree--this is wonderful stuff here.

The meter is just slightly off in some places (but I don't like things wrapped too tight anyhow) yet it's just tight enough to allow this to flow in the reading.

I caught a lovely visual of surreal twilight ambience as I read as well.

Enjoyed this much!
