A man once alive
Found the tide to be consuming
It was an exit, it was an entrance
No longer staggered; only sure
A lake of reason, not so blue
Holding something within
Manumission, entropy and gain

“What is this?  This is new…”
A feeling regained
Dismissing this demon
The relieving of self
At the bottom of a lake
Quintessence departed from man
Luminous; as dreaming

Screaming in the violent current
This damage decrescent
Innards of ethereal composition
Crux both in shape and voice
Taken by moment
Saturated by choice
Should it stay, or need it go?

Haunting in this water
The pod of what he was
A spectre
That which could have been

A man once alive
And was once damaged
Rests at the bottom of the world
Held himself within him
It is reborn and broken out
And to himself he thought before death:
“This is something better, not ever something less…”
