there drifts a sigh
across the silent glen
where sunset holds the sky
and shadows never end

where once we lay
our bodies full entwined
lips finding every way
in troth to kisses bind

on the heather green
far from this castle keep
in ecstasy unseen
'neath silent willow's weep

to voices of the dove
in summer blossom's dew
we made a bonny love
as e'r there was so true

upon this sin belove
she offered up her life
to providence above
for being another's wife

I will weep for ages
in my dungeon cell
awaiting out the wages
of sin in living hell

Wow...it's as if I was sitting in the company of this person, and he was telling me about his plight. WOW...captivated me! Good one.

Thanks, Shara.
I've been trying to write something more ancient in style.
I appreciate the read.

This is sad and lovely and lyrical, and indeed quite classical in tone.

This was refreshing to read, and although dark in tone, it made me smile as it reminded me of our old friend Michael Anderson, who has been sorely missed.

More of these, please? I'll be looking forward to reading you.

Thanks for the kind comments, Serenity Blaze and cusick.
'Tis still a "work in progress". I'll try to post the final version of this one for ya sometime.
