turn the lights low
please
my sight
has been attuned
to the night
wash
rainfall
fresh walk
of haven . . .

The deepened scars
glint within the moonlight
I stare at them
and laugh

half-heartedly
of course

There are no cotton comforts
or cool jeweled pools
of late
to create
a sanctuary of sorts
from myself
you see

It is not this dying world
of which I find fear
but this damp, black death
I have lain across my face

I am left to gaze
only upon
a trace
of me
beneath this veil
of mourning

Your work has grown so much and so quickly my sista.

I truly love the form of this--you just went in there and truly touched base with yourself and produced an honest expression without any of the bells and whistles.

And guess what? When ya can do that? You don't need the razzmatazz.

Hugs you. I love the direction your writing is taking.

Oh my...Sue...do you have ANY
idea how deeply this hit me?

Of course you do...smile.

The honesty of this is beautiful...

Thank you...for YOU...

But? Why? You are one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Don't answer. That's just me thinking out loud, but I have to ask myself why. You have been kind to me. Seems so unfair, and undeserving. I say don't answer because that's not something I'm sure you would want to talk about in a not so private place, but I just hate to see this. If it's not about you personally then this is sad for anyone who is going through this. I pray they get better soon.

Mourn not for traces,
               seen,
but for faces,
              unseen.
I enjoyed reading.

Littlewing I have just answered this but must have pressed the wrong button and lost it. The images you portay are so tragic that I going to think it is about someone else. Hugs, Maggie
