Sheets of darkness possess the skyline
As bruised clouds gather to dine
Her eyes casting sight over neon lights
A child chained throughout endless nights
The winter chill rattling her spine
As she’s sold to the corner of a street line

Footsteps asleep in her mind as he approaches
She gasps then devours the air she poaches
In one hand he stuffs her name in his pocket
Suffocating her memories in dusty ashes of chance
As she surrenders to his pungent stance

Nameless men eclipse her days
As shadows pass through her misty haze
Cold and exposed she glares to her strain
His shackles pacifying her lonely vein
As his breaths pound in her brain

Through the mist of the lost she sinks
Through the grip of broken links
The drum of silence panting in her breathe
To the floor of forgotten death
