No Friend of mine
This troubled soul
Embraced by some
As one who is whole

I see jagged breaks of sanity
Delusions grand
Wrapped round the fingers
Of some paranoia hand

I pity the grip
Held so tight to Him
A cover for all
The wrongs and whims

Feed not the behavior
Of such spiteful deceit
For it grows roots among us
And leads to defeat

No friend of mine
with irrational lies
insanity rules
some people’s lives

Be careful I’m told
Whose words you embrace
Those who are ill
And unreasonable faiths

Lead us to harm
The things we admire
And all will end up
In some quagmire

Capt.,
I had to throw out someting on these blue pages to let you know that your poem was appreciated.   Don't know what to say except I read it a couple of times, and thought it was thought provoking and terrific.

Excellent write. You are so correct, hating is defeating!!! As if to ask the question who shall cast the first stone and who amonst you judges lest ye be judged yourself. Excellent wisdom sir!!!
