Flurry

A flurry of white
stirred the tranquillity
of a darkened morning.
Sun hiding its warming
behind clouds of dismay.

No reflection today,
no shadows by my side,
only loneliness to handicap my walk.

Amputating those thoughts
that bare the wait,
that delay the reach into happiness,
a chore, on so cold a day.

Still,
the unconditional mists my eyes,
tips my lashes in white,
a soft touch remembering
a time when life was not stolen
and the tracings of love lingered,
to sustain me.

I wear the silk of touch.
Its weave, words whispered
from lips that hold
all that I need to know,
smoothing my ruffles
with each breath of yours
I feel.

The day eases,
the heart still beats
and when rhythm falls out of step
it is no longer anxiety,
but a flurry of thoughts
from a touch of your lips.

Thank you, Bridgette *s

Dawn, well you know lips do all the "telling"

I was so down in my first poem, I took a little rest and a warm bath and felt much better.

Richard, thank you for your nice comment. I appreciate it.

Sue, I needed to write something softer, so I thought of lips...they can always soften me up.

Nancy, I thought I was going to die this morning, my heart was beating so fast
(anxiety attack). I rested a bit, there was a snow flurry...
and I thought how can I pass  this up...
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks

M
