Hi kids. I don't know if I'm doing this right. Dah
Bon-Bon

Men of The Sea

As the blue green waters wash over
the wet and icy deck,
a lone sailor is standing.
He stands and gazed across the wide
expanse of the rolling sea
and
shields a deep longing held within his
heart
for the warmth of home and family.
He longs to see a new wife that has
taken his given name
and touch and hold a new babe born.
As night rolls across the evening sky
the stars
turn into a guiding light of
panoramic visions
guiding the weary sailor to ports
unknown or
to the land of his birth, with rolling
hills
and heather covering the ground in
all its
beauty and splendor.
For a while the sailor is content to
be upon the land,
with family and friends.
But, as we all know, the sailor has
given his heart to the
mysterious excitement of the sea.
Eventually he will return
and stand upon the deck and look out
at the beauty of the rolling waters.
For he is, a man of the sea.

I could probably sing for "Those in peril on the Sea " now, without any thoughts of missing words

I served 8 years in the Royal Navy, a lot on land but my mother was from North Shields and her family were trawlermen

You are right, it is in the blood and never leaves

how beautiful...oh I love the sea...and I hope your sailor finds his dreams...this took me in and held onto my heart...a lovely story, not to mention the picture, which both flow together, like waves touching the sand...dreams in the making, and written by your very own talented hand.  Thank you once again for taking me away to this priceless place.  Hugs, and wishing you a marvelous day ahead.
