in the shadows

Silent stalks
the yellow eyes
of swift precision kill,
entitled
to the bending
of life around its will;
the simple truth
of predators
silences debate.

The prey
are merely other,
whose lives
include the wait.

The hunter
and the hunted,
bound
throughout eternity,
neither knowing choices,
neither truly free.
