I Chi Mae watch for him
And wonder if the rain
Which fell as pearls against
The screen of my window
Contained his ashes.

Ti Si lay beside me
As I spoke to her of the days
When I was taken from my home
To marry
And kissed my tears
As I cried for the years I had been away

My Mother they told me
Died three years after I left
But word did not reach me
Until the Old Man with Pots
Came round and he spoke of my home
As he ate the rice I offered.

My heart now twists
Like the stick caught in spring flood

A turn towards Ti Si
Then swirled towards thoughts
Of him I married.

I wait this way
On endless days that like camels tied
Follow one on the other
each stepping in the footprints
of the one before
and my burden brings fatigue.

Ti Si watches me with almond eyes
Remaining silent
And I pull her closer
For this bed is cold
And you my husband
Do not know the ways of pleasure
But for yourself.

it all began with a picture... one of bright colors and showing the face of a woman carrying a basket... the rest, simply was born of imagination and the creation of a voice in my head that speaks the words...

I am afraid I am still quite ignorant, neglectful of reading, and blind to so much of what I see...

lol... why these.. and why the subject matter remains a bit of a mystery to me.

...i'll be reading this one again and again!

Someday I'll fly, Someday I'll soar,
Someday I'll be So damn much more
Cause I'm bigger than my body

(laughing) the number of times I might have added some bit of trivial crap to these fine pages is truly not a milestone.. more perhaps something to be mourned...

It is a powerful current to attempt and you write it with the insight and understanding I have come to appreciate so much from you, both as a poet and a friend.
