     LOST INNOCENCE

Children playing, funny faces
Singing laughing having fun,
Each day new adventures waiting
Making friends with everyone.
What's that laying silent in the ground?
What new toy have we found?
Look it as prongs like stars
Don't stand on it you'll break it,
Here let me let me take it.
Another life snubbed out today
One more child never more to play.
On the news just a line
Land mine maims some friends of mine,
In a land far away,
Far from were your children play
But it was some mother's son
Innocence Lost no more fun.

Richard, this is so sad, yet written
so beautifully.

How right you are that those are still children that are getting those one liners on the news. War is not pretty.

(tears fall down my cheeks) I pity all those who use war as the answer and fabrication to justice in the world, dearest friend, by telling you this you probably know well my political stance, which is against the administration's trust, and I truly believe if you root for war or revenge you truly don't support peace, as peace is simply peace, God Bless You, I pray for the children that they won't have to lose innocence by seeing these disturbing images, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richard, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

im sad for everyone who suffers, especially children, they dont get a vote in what happens, they are forced to be victims.

It's so sad, isn't it? These kids survived the war and when it's finally safe to play again, they step on a mine. Thanks for writing this. It can't be said enough.

Very well written.
Just too bad it has to be said at all.
I do enjoy your style.
Hugs~

Thank you all who have responded to date, it means a lot to me. I wanted the poem to reflect that all war is evil, I saw a child who recently lost his whole family and his arms and legs and who is now in England for treatment, He is a remarkable child who is left with one uncle.
