She lies in mourn,
clad in warworn attire.
Feeling quite spent,
from a world set afire.
The earth splits open,
revealing its rage.
The skies embark,
on their own escapades.
Battered and bruised,
pilfered and used,
all natural order,
has been misconstrued.
Her children are slaughtered
and hung out to dry.
Then pasted on walls
and exposed to all eyes.
Her breath is thus poisoned
by fumes we create.
In a bid to move faster,
in a bid to lay waste,
which flow dessicating,
the oceans and lakes.
Oh how she must suffer,
this blood that we taint.
Oh how she must wonder,
what more she can take.

Welcome to passions, Eric...:-)
This is an awsome first post.
Mother earth is indeed in trouble, moreso than ever, especially with the developing countries entering into the industrial age and the worlds only super power with a leader who intends to revamp every law on the books to insure her further destruction.

this is a very passionate and sad way at looking at our world, she surely is battered.
you've done her justice by singing her plight....only if more ears would listen we could try to fix all the damage we have done.

looking forward to more of your writing

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Divine entrance!

This piece reminds me a bit of a Tracey Chapman song (in theme only).  Can't remember the name off hand...

Oh just came to me, "The Rape of the World", that is the name of it!!!

(tears fall down my cheeks) Your sensitive heart is open to the many tears and fears of the world, dearest friend, "Where is the love?" is the question I have to ask each and every time I turn on the news, and with violence everywhere and even more violent politicians even here in America like Bush tearing up the real bushes from Mother Earth and ridding of our individual freedoms and rights, it will only get worse until someone steps up and works to fear nothing but God and rules with love! This is a powerful debut, God Bless You! Welcome to Passions, sweet Eric, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your wonderful words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
