standing on a shadow's lace

A Woman Stands Rusting

you continue your endless search
and your turn at a second chance
with empty mirrored image beauties
who are willing to take you only
to the edge but never to the center
they are looking for your secrets
here, I have them and know each one
I live them in daily grinding moments

I look you straight into your eyes
and listen to you pick off
the lint of each of their flaws
I watch quietly in silence
as you have questioned me
about each of your redeeming qualities
and the only flaws I plainly see
in you are fear and pride

so easily women hand over themselves
to your unaltered seeming grace and face
and all I have to offer you is...words
thick skinned scars of sin and emotions
put together with thin stretched stitches
and a courage filled heart
that beats on un-faltered

here stands a woman
where a child once stood
who can not teach you to feel
or change the face of the past
but who is unafraid of tomorrow
but life is getting shorter
by each passing moment
and I find it difficult
to continue to hold
my breath waiting
for you to believe

I really like this

Hard hitting honest, deep, thoughtful, multiple targets of deceit

Yes I really like this

The flow of this (and all your words) is really brilliant.  I feel your pain in some way.  .........hugs, jo

another great selection of words
and
another moment like a window...
for me to look and feel through.
