Epitaph

Here lies one that no soul will mourn,
No eye will shed a single tear;
No heart will wring with emotions torn
No one will lend a listening ear.
To a desperate soul in captivity
Lonely and forgotten throughout eternity.

Here lies one who will know no friend
Of kith and kin all but bereft;
Not a single hand will succor lend
To one who has but nothing left.
For a lonely soul in captivity
Seeking for love throughout eternity

Here lies one who will never know
The joy of life with each breath;
The light of day will never glow
Upon a life dimmed by death;
On a desolate soul in captivity
Craving for freedom through eternity.

It is hoped that that not be the way of it.  Good writing.

"Not a single hand will succor lend"

I would love any poem that used the word succor properly , but this was a really good write.  Well done.

Hi, This is very good. I like the rhyme and you have kept the flow throughout the poem.
A dark poem with deep feeling.
well done.
regards Richard.
