My niece Lauren who is now seven was studying basic prayer in junior school and asked me to write a prayer for her, after many tries I wrote this. I have made it a simple prayer to God. [I hope you like it]

        PRAYER
[dedicated to lauren]

Oh Father I love you and adore
You make my life complete,
And each new day I love you more
My heart and soul to keep.

And all the days that I may live
For you who made the sea and shore,
In the love and mercy that you give
I will walk forever more.

Oh Father I love you and adore
For those gifts I may not merit,
My needs you know though I ask for more
And your love fills up my spirit.

And each new day when I awake
I raise my eyes above,
Remembering that for our sake
You gave your eternal love.

Oh Father I love you and adore
You make my life complete,
And each new day I love you more
My heart and soul to keep.

Richard, this is most beautiful!
You should really think about compiling a book of children's poems and prayers.

Richard, I am enjoying the children's prayers.  A book of them would be good.

Hi Jaicie,
I am pleased you liked the prayer, it took me the longest to write than any poem. I have been ill with disc problems which for a long time cut short my poetry, I have just this summer started again so I hope to have something new soon.
thanks for your comments I am gratfull.
take care Richard.
