There’s something born within us all, within the minds own core
That tells us even when fulfilled we want that little more
There’s something within passion’s lust that drives us near insane
But even when we get its fill, we search for it again

Something guides the human that a creature would ignore
The niceties, the law’s own right, the way of those before
For animals would feed their need without a thought at all
Where we might ponder daydreams and the moments of recall

We’re judged and we are looked at, examined and assessed
Put within a memory but unknowing of the test
We’re individuals, us all and different in some way
The modern day breed human being who’s tested everyday

If we were all alone without the judgement of our peers
Would it change the way we act and live throughout our years?
Or was there something stamped within, a birthmark none can see
That somehow guides us on our way to where we all should be

We’re individuals us all, but common threads exist
That we all need, that we all want, the things we can’t resist
Society creates it and we fall in its wake
As individuals unite and grave mistakes we make

One man is not the King of men, or woman Queen of all
We’re lucky just to make a mark that someone might recall
And generations will go on till life on earth does end
Then only Gods can let us plea as actions we defend

We’re people doing what we can through moments of each day
Trying just to do our best and go along our way
People with emotions, with wants and pleas of hope
Lucky to have one true friend and lucky we could cope

I like the way this sounds coupled together.

Very deep poem for me this morning, dear, and very good.  Chewey is what I will call it, becuase it is one I will be reading on and off all day, probably.  We are, indeed, a wanting creature, and you have described it well here.

Enjoyed the thought you put into your word selections!

McLean, it is lovely to have you replying. Human thoughts; in one way or the other we are all the same; all trying to live our lives as well as we can. Great to have you visit; here it is night time 11.30pm Sunday. I hope you have a great day. Take care my friend.

Sincerely
Rick

Rick,,,,,goodness knows we are judged, sentenced, executed, and forgotten a thousand times a day,,,for the way we dress, what we eat, who we know, beliefs,,,the list is endless,,,
I love the way you weave it all together,,,yes, we are all different, but with a basic similarity of needs and desires
All very well put
Take care
Michelle

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

Hello Rick

This was an outstanding piece of writing and one which many people should read.  Your words of wisdom always shine like a beacon in the night and I get so much out of reading your words.  You truly are an inspiration, my friend.

A keeper that is going right into my library.  I am so glad that voice told me to pick this one to read at this moment.  You put so much into perspective for me.  It seems I have been going through the exam of my life this last month and then pulling the poor pitiful me routine.

Rick, this is one of your best, if not the best.
