Within Inches

fluid as always
you splash
upon me
leaving me
breathless
many times
before I
cut through fog
just to touch
the edge
of you
today being
no different
here in
the middle
of winter
I reach
for your banks

Today, you've reached me (although that is not what I believe you meant)!  Great fluency!

Power in this imagery...I love it for its dimensions, but I'd pack it into my library for the imagery alone...in it goes!

I love this:

"fluid as always
you splash
upon me"

like the tidal flow
I reach for the shore of you
withdrawing again

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Superb allegory!!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Cutting through the fog to touch the edge!
Mmmm, hmmmm, that's a nice way to go about it.

Love your style, Helen~

Helen,
You are the best. So much packed into such few words. I'll always have a soft spot for my "die hard" romantic. Peace and health.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
