She sits
Out of my sight
Among the frozen winter’s leave
Pondering the hurts of him

Perhaps of me

And feels the winds
Too cold for the coat of arms
She doesn’t have wrapped around
The person she truly is

I wonder
If the eyes would gaze on me
With regret or sorrow
Worst, with pity
For all I never am

Yet I picture her
Against the weak and faded sun
An outline
With taut lips that slide
Into gentle curve of skin

No longer bared for him

Too tender still

For me

Oh, I beg to differ.  With words as soft and from deep within your heart as these, how could she not but fall in love with you?
Going into my library this is! hugs, Chris

With regret or sorrow
Worst, with pity
For all I never am

I felt this, and feel it so often and wish
no one ever had to feel this way....

omg.....any one would have to be a fool not to want these words wrapped around them...a sigh waiting to happen...
very well done and captivating sir...

Incredible portrait of that turning in that's so necessary before one can again look outwards. *S* I like this very much!

Mr. Metaphor has done it again.  It would be an even more stark world without the images you verbally paint.

Haven't read all of the responses...
no need to.

They are all saying...
in one way or another...

you are poet.

This one I keep.

I'm tempted to say why, but...won't. Too personal....I'll just say and this poem could have been written from inside me, and I wish it had been.

Thank you for every word.

Strong words.  Sounds like somethin' I went through myself not too long ago.  If I had a library, this would go in it ;-)

Of unsurpassed quality, Ron.

Ron, I'm adding this lovingly tender poem
to my library, too. It really touched
my heart.
